Flying to the Maldives

From both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, there is plenty of choice when it comes to selecting your flights to the Maldives, and with Velana International Airport only 4 hours away, the world's leading holiday destination is only a short hop from the United Arab Emirates.

Emirates

4 flights per day from Dubai (DXB T3)

Operating from DXB Terminal 3, Emirates offers the widest choice of departures as well as their award-winning services. As you would expect, their pricing is typically a little on the high side compared to flydubai and Wizz Abu Dhabi, but Emirates is a full-service airline offering superior seat comfort, in-flight entertainment and a complimentary meal service compared to the cheaper low-cost options.

flydubai

3 flights per day from Dubai (DXB T2)

If you don't mind flying from DXB Terminal 2 and are looking for a low-cost option, flydubai is worth considering. With 3 flights per day to the Maldives, they have the second highest frequency just behind Emirates, but at fares that are quite a bit lower.

Etihad

1 flight per day from Abu Dhabi

If you are flying from Abu Dhabi, Etihad leads the way flying its Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Terminal 3 once daily. Although there is just the one flight, the timings are pretty good allowing you to benefit from the maximum amount of time at your chosen resort.

Wizz Abu Dhabi

1 flight per day from Abu Dhabi

Like Etihad, Wizz only flies once daily, and their flying time is over one hour longer as they are not ETOPS rated. Their schedule is also not ideal with a very late arrival in Male. However, what they lack in product they more than make up for in price with some spectacular low fares that more than compensate for their shortcomings.
